THE WEST BENGAL APPROPRIATION (EXCESS 
EXPENDITURE, 1978-79, 1979-80, 1980-81 AND 
1981-82) ACT, 1989. 
[Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] 
[Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, 
Extraordinary; of the 20th June, 1989.]

An Act to regularise payment and appropriation of certain further sums 
from and out of the Consolidated Fund of West Bengal for the services 
and purposes of the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 
1979, the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1980, the 
year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1981 and the year ending 
on the thirty-first day of March, 1982. 
It is hereby enacted in the Fortieth Year of the Republic of India, by 
the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:- 
1. This Act may be called the West Bengal Appropriation (Excess Short title. 
Expenditure, 1978-79, 1979-80, 1980-81 and 1981-82) Act, 1989. 
Issue of 
2. From and out of the Consolidated Fund of West Bengal,— 	 Rs. 1,07, 
(1) sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of 78,47,401,  Rs. 41,73, 
Schedule I amounting in the aggregate to the sum of rupees 11,148, 
one hundred seven crores seventy-eight lakhs forty-seven Rs. 76,58,  66,483 and 
thousand four hundred and one, 	 Rs. 56,50, 
75,896 out (2) sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of of the 
Schedule II amounting in the aggregate to the sum of rupees Consolidated 
Fund of forty-one crores seventy-three lakhs eleven thousand one West Bengal 
hundred and forty-eight, 	 respectively 
for the 
(3) sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of services and  
Schedule III amounting in the aggregate to the sum of rupees the year
of  purposes 
 
seventy-six crores fifty-eight lakhs sixty-six thousand four 	 1978-79, the  
hundred and eighty-three, and 	 year 
80, the 
1979- 
year 
(4) sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of 1980-81 and  the year 
Schedule IV amounting in the aggregate to the sum of rupees 1981-82.

(Section 3.) 
are authorised for payment and application towards defraying the several 
charges which were incurred during— 
(i) the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1979, 
(ii) the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1980, 
(iii) the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1981, and 
(iv) the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1982, 
respectively, in respect of the services and purposes specified in column 
2 of each such Schedule and which were in excess of the amounts granted 
for the services and purposes of the respective year. 
Appropria- 	 3. The sums authorised for payment and application from and out 
Lion. 	 of the Consolidated Fund of West Bengal by this Act shall be deemed to 
have been respectively appropriated for the services and purposes 
expressed in Schedules I, II, III and IV in relation to the year ending on 
the thirty-first day of March, 1979, the year ending on the thirty-first 
day of March, 1980, the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 
1981 and the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1982.
