XIII OF 2014 (Received the assent of the Governor on 20th September, 2014) THE ASSAM DEPUTY SPEAKER'S SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2014 910 THE ASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2014 Preamble Short title and commencement Amendment of section 2 AN ACT further to amend the Assam Deputy Speaker’s Salaries and Allowances Act, 1958. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Deputy Speaker’s Salaries and Allowances Act, 1958, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-fifth Year of the Republic of India, as follows Assam Act, XVI o f 1958 1 . (1) This Act may be called the Assam Deputy Speaker’s Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act, 2014. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. In the principal Act, in section 2, for the existing provisions of clauses (i), (iii) and (iv), the following shall be substituted, namely “(i). a salary of seventy five thousand rupees per mensem;” “(iii) a Daily Allowance of one thousand five hundred rupees while on official tour and its halt within the State of Assam: Provided that the Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly shall be entitled to draw Daily Allowance of two thousand rupees whenever the Deputy Speaker performs the official duties outside the State of Assam and its halt;” “(iv) a Sitting Allowance of one thousand five hundred rupees per day for the entire period of the Assembly Session computing two days before the commencement and two days after the termination of such Session: Provided that the Sitting Allowance shall not be admissible if the Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly performs the official tour within the State of Assam or outside the State of Assam and its halt during the period of the Assembly Session and such performance of official tour shall be intimated to the Principal Secretary, Assam Legislative Assembly;” S. EXTRAORDINARY, SEPTEM BER^ AN ACT further to amend the Assam Deputy Speaker’s Salaries and Allowances Act, 1958. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Deputy Speaker’s Salaries and Allowances Act, 1958, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-first Year of the Republic of India, as follows 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Deputy Speaker’s Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act, 2010. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. In the principal Act, for section 2, the following shall be substituted, namely :- “2. Salary and Allowances of the Deputy Speaker There shall be paid to the Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, - (i) a Salary of fifty five thousand rupees per mensem; (ii) a Sumptuary Allowance of nine thousand rupees per mensem; (iii) a Daily Allowance of one thousand rupees while on official tour and its halt within the State of Assam: Provided that the Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly shall be entitled to draw Daily Allowance of one thousand five hundred rupees whenever the Deputy Speaker performs the official duties outside the State of Assam and its halt; (iv) Sitting Allowance of one thousand rupees per day for the entire period of the Assembly Session computing two days before the commencement and two days after the termination of such Session: Provided that the Sitting Allowance shall not be admissible if the Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly performs the official tour within the State of Assam or outside the State of Assam and its halt during the period of the Assembly Session and such performance of official tour shall be intimated to the Secretary, Assam Legislative Assembly; 2010 Assam Act XVI of 1958 THE ASSAM GAZETTE.
