(EXCESS EXPENDITURE 1968-69, 1969-70,
1970-71, 1971-72, 1972-73 AND 1973-74)

An Act to regularise payment and appropriation of certain further
sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of West Bengal for the
services and purposes of the year ending on the thirty-first day of
March 1969, the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1970,
the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1971, the year
ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1972, the year ending on the
thirty-first day of March, 1973 and the year ending on the thirty-
first day of March, 1974.
It is hereby enacted in the Thirty-fourth Year of the Republic of
India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:-
1. This Act may be called the West Bengal Appropriation (Excess
Expenditure, 1968-69, 1969-70, 1970-71, 1971-72, 1972-73 and
1973-74) Act, 1983.
2. From and out of the Consolidated Fund of West Bengal,—
(1) sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of
Schedule I amounting in the aggregate to the sum of rupees
nine crores, eighty lakhs, ninety-six thousand, eight hundred
and thirty-five,
(2) sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of
Schedule II amounting in the aggregate to the sum of rupees
seven crores, forty-four lakhs, sixty-four thousand, six
hundred and sixty-eight,
(3) sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of
Schedule III amounting in the aggregate to the sum of
rupees twenty-two crores, ninety-one lakhs, forty-two
thousand, five hundred and sixteen,

(4) sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of
Schedule IV amounting in the aggregate to the sum of
rupees forty-six crores, thirty-seven lakhs, sixty-nine
thousand, eight hundred and twenty-seven,
(5) sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of
Schedule V amounting in the aggregate to the sum of rupees
fifty-one crores, five lakhs, ninety-one thousand, three
hundred and sixty-five, and
(6) sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of
Schedule VI amounting in the aggregate to the sum of
rupees sixty-one crores, eighty-six lakhs, sixty thousand,
one hundred and forty,
are authorised for payment and application towards defraying the several
charges which were incurred during—
(i) the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1969,
(ii) the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1970,
(iii) the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1971,
(iv) the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1972,
(v) the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1973, and
(vi) the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1974,
repectively, in respect of the services and purposes specified in column
2 of each such Schedule and which were in excess of the amounts granted
for the services and purposes of the respective year.
Appropria- 3. The sums authorised for payment and application from and out
tion. of the Consolidated Fund of West Bengal by this Act shall be deemed
to have been respectively appropriated for the services and purposes
expressed in Schedules I, II, III, IV, V and VI in relation to the year
ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1969, the year ending on the
thirty-first day of March, 1970, the year ending on the thirty-first day
of March, 1971, the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1972,
the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1973 and the year ending
on the thirty-first day of March, 1974.
