to exte nd the Industrial Disputes {Ap pellate Tribunal) Act, 1950 to the Autono mou s 
Districts in the State of Assam .
Pr ea mbl e.β€”Whereas it is ex pedient to extend the  Industrial Disp utes 
(Appellate Tribu nal) Act, 1950 to t he Auto nomous Districts in the Sta te of 
Assam ;
It  is hereby  ena cte d in the Seventh Yea r of  the  Republic of In di a as 
follows:β€”
1. Short  t itle , exten t an d co m m en ce m en t.β€” (1) This Act may  be 
called the  Ind ust rial Disputes (Ap pell ate Tribu nal) (Extension to the Assam 
Autonomous Districts) Act, 1956.
(2) It  shall exte nd to the Autonomou s Districts referred to in Pa rt A of 
the  Schedule app end ed to pa ragrap h 20 of the  Sixth  Schedule to the  
Constitut ion o f India , hereinafter r eferred to as β€œ the said area s” .
(3) Th is Act shall come into force on such date as the  Sta te Gov ernΒ­
ment appo int  in th at  behalf.
2. Ex ten sio n of Pa rliam en t Act XLV III o f 1950.β€” All the provisions 
of t he I ndust rial Dispute s (App ellate  Tribu nal) Act, 1950 shall app ly to the  
said areas,
