AN
ACT
further to amend the Assam Electricity Duty Act, 196 4.
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Ass am 
Electricity Duty Act, 1964, hereinafter referred to as the Act N o. 
principal Act, in the maimer hereinafter appearing; ^XX o!
It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-ninth Year of the J 964  
Republic o f India as follows
1, (1) This Act may be called the Assam Electricity Duty
(Amendment) Act, 2018,
(2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
2. In the principal Act, in section 3,-
(i) in sub-section (1), for the words “at the rate of 
twenty paise per unit of energy’ 5, the words, “at five 
percentum of the aggregate value of  energy charges 
and fixed charges” shall be substituted;
(ii) in sub-section (4), in the proviso, for the words 
‘ Twenty paise per unit of energy”, the words “ten 
percentum o f the aggregate value of energy’  charges 
and fixed charges” shal 1  be substituted.
