ASSAM ACT NO. XIII OF 2006 (Received the assent o f the Governor on 19th August, 2006) THE ASSAM STA TE LEGISLATURE MEMBERS (REMOVAL OF DISQUALIFICATIONS) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2006. AN ACT further to amend the Assam State Legislature Members (Removal of Disqualifications) Act. 1950. Preamble Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam State Legislature Members (Removal of Disqualifications) Act. 1950, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; Assam Act x m of 1950 It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-seventh Year of the Republic o f India as follows: - Short title, extent and commencemen 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam State Legislature Members (Removal of Disqualifications) (Amendment) Act, 2006. (2) It extends to the whole of Assam. Explanation: - For the purposes of this entry the word “local authority” Shall mean and include the bodies and authorities as defined in clause (31) of Central Act section 3 o f the General Clauses Act, 1897.
