Whereasit is expedientfurtherto amendthe
Indian StampAct, 1899,hereinafterreferred
to as the principalAct,in its applicationto
the State ofAssam,in the mannerhereinafter
appearing;
It is hereby enactedinthe Sixty-fourthYear
of the RepublicofIndiaas follows:-

1.(1) This'Act may be calledthe I!IdianStamp
(Assam Amendm~nt) Act,2013.
(2) It extendsto thewholeof Assam.
(3) It shall comeinto force at once.
2. In the principal.Act,in Schedule-I,for item
No.23,'the followingshallbe SUbstituted,
namely:-
"23. Conveyance[asdefinedby
section 2(1O)lnotbeinga Transfer,
charged orexemptedundet:No:62.
Central Act II
of 1899. '
Two percent of
the market value
of the property
for such conveyance
made in favour
of women solely
or jolntly with
others and three
percent for others."
