Expluaation 11.-A suit shall be deemed to be a sun for the
reoovery of rent notwithstanding that other rclicfs are prayed for in
such suit, and a decree shall be deemed to be a decree for payment of
money passed in sucl~. slit notwit1:sranding that other rcliefs are grar

. . 6. Continuance of upF2icafions and suits and proceedings after' .the
expiration of the Act.--All applications for the zviction of a cultivritii'lg
tenant under the Tenants l'rotectioa Act or uuder. Chapter 111. of the .
Public Trusts Act, as the case may be, and all suits and proceedings
stayed under this Act, shall, after the expiration of this Act, be proceeded-
with subject to the provisio~~s of any law which may then :be in -forie,
from the stage which had been reached when, the application, suit 'br
proceeding was stayed.

7. Right to restoration of possession of evicted cultivating tenmtsi-
(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any judgment or decree%r'ar. -
order of any court or other authority and subject to the proviSionS;bf
this Act every cultivating tenant who had beon evicted from any 1andf;dn
or after the 1st day of July 1984, but-

any flood affected area specified in the Sohedule to this Act on the date
of such publication; and

8. Act to over-ride other law, contrdct, etc.-The provisions of
this Act shall have effect notwithstanding anything inconsistent there:
with contained in the Tenants Protection Act or in the Public Trusts
Act or in the Tamil .Nadu Cultivating Tenants Arrears of Rent (~exef)
Act, 1980 (Tamil Nadu, Act 15 of 1980) or in the Tamil Nadu .Cyclone
and Flood ATected Areas CuItivating Tenants Arrears of Rent (Rief)
Act, 1980(TnmiI Nadu Ac1 16of 1980) or in the Tamil Nadu Cultivating ,--

9. Power ru make -rrcles.-(I) The Stafe Government may make

- - (2) All rules made undc~ this Act shall be,published ia the Ta~tii
'Mdu Gsver~znzmi Gazeftc and unles;i they are expressed to come into
lfom on particular dny, shall coma into force on the day on which they
are 'so published.
(3) Every rule made under this Act shaU, as soon as possible,
after it is made, be placed on the table of both Houses of thc Legislature
- and if, before the expiry of the session in which it is so placed or the next
asion, both Houses agree in making any modification in any such
' rule or both Houses agree that the rule should not be made, the role
sh& thereafter have etiwt only in such modified form or be of nu effect,
as the case may.&, so, howcver, that any suck modfication or annulment
. shall bc without prejudice to the validity
under that rrrle.
I 10. Power ro amend Scl~edule.--The State Gorlerament may, by
I notification, from time to time, include any Aood affectad area in the
Schdulc ta this Act.
