Tamil Nadu Essential Services Maintenance (Repeal) Act, 2006 
(Act No. 11 of 2006)

An Act to repeal the Tamil Nadu Essential Services Maintenance Act, 2002. 
 
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Fifty-seventh 
Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 
 
1. Short title and commencement.  - (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Essential 
Services Maintenance (Repeal) Act, 2006. 
(2) It shall come into force at once. 
 
2. Repeal. - The Tamil Nadu Essential Services Maintenance Act, 2002 (Tamil Nadu Act 36 
of 2002) is hereby repealed. 
 
3. Abatement of action taken and legal proceedings.  - All actions taken under the Tamil 
Nadu Essential Services Maintenance Act, 2002 (Tamil Nadu Act 36 of 2002) and all  
proceedings thereunder pending immediately before the commencement of this Act, before 
any Court or authority shall abate.
