THE NORTHERN INDIA CANAL AND DRAINAGE 
(PUNJAB AMENDMENT) ACT, 1981 
AN 
ACT 
%0 amend the Northern India Canal and Drainage Act, 1873, in ies application to the State of Punjab. : 
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Thirty- second Year of the Republic of India, as follows 
1. This Actmay be called the Northern Indiz Canal and Drainage gi x suzy (Punjab Amendment) Act, 1981, 
2. Tn ihe Northern India Canal and Drainage Act, 1873, inits ap- Amsndams plication to the State of Punjab (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), of sactio. & in section 4, for the words “the officers by whom”, the words * the officers of Csntral of the State Government or of the Punjab State Tubewell Corporation Limited oo 8 of by whom” shall be substituted. BP, 
3. Anything done or any action taken or purporting to have been dome Vaidation or taken by any officer of the Punjab State Tubewell Corporation Limited ® acting or purporting to act as Canal Officer under the provisions of the principal Act or the rules made thereunder shall be deemed to be valid and effective as if the aforesaid officer had at all material times been duly authorised to exercise such powers and to perform such functions and accord- ingly mo such thing or action shall be called into question inany court of law merely on the ground that any such thing or action was dons or taken by that officer without any authority.
