The Global Open Universjty (Second Amendment) Act 2024
To establish and incorporate a Private University by the Name of The Global Open University
Nagaland in the State of Nagaland and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental
thereto. Whereas the establishment of a Private University can be done only through an Act of
the State Legislative Assembly as per provisions in the University Grants Commission
(Establishment and maintenance of standards in Private University) Regulations 2003 .

Further to amend the Globat Open University (Nagaland) Act 2006.
Be it enacted by the Nagaland Legislature in the Seventh-Fifth year of the Republic of India as
follows.
I. Short tide and commencement
i. TIris Act may be called TIle Global Open University (Nagaland) (Second
Amendr,rent) Act 2024.
ii. It shall come into force frorn the date of publication in the Ofilcial Gazette.
2, Amendment of name of the University.
in TIle Global Open University (Nagaland) Acl 2006 (hewi'.I after referred to as the
Principal Act), for the name of the University, namely- “The Global Open University
(Naga land)”, the name “International University” shall be substituted.
3 Amendment in Principat Act and TIle Global Open University (Nagaland) (Amendment)
Act, 201 1
In the Principal Act and Tbc Global Open University (Nagaland) (Amendment) Act
2011, for the words “The Global Open University Wagaland)” wherever they appeared,
the words “International University” shall be substituted.
