Preamble. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Act VII of
Court-fees Act, 1870, hereinafter called the princi- 18 
pal Act, in its application to Assam, in the manner 
hereinafter appearing.
It is hereby enacted in the Twenty-third 
Year of the Rc public of India as follows:— 
Short title, extent 
and conuience- 
ment.
1.(1) This Act may be called the 
Fees (Assam Amendment) Act, 1972,

(2) It extends to the whole of Assam.
(3) It shall come into force on such 
date as the State Government may, by noti­
fication in the official Gazette, appoint.
