THE ASSAM AMUSEMENTS AND BETTING TAX (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2003.
AN
ACT
further to amend the Assam Amusements and
Betting Tax Act, 1939.
Preamble Whereas it is expedient further to amend Assam Act v i
the Assam Amusements and Betting Tax Act, o fl9 3 9-  
1939, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, 
in the manner hereinafter appearing ;
It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-fourth Year 
of the Republic of India as follows
Short title, j. (1) This Act may be called the Assam 
extent and Amusements and Betting Taxcommencement °
(Amendment) Act, 2003.
(2) It shall have the like extent as the principal 
Act.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
Amendment 2. In the principal Act, in section 3, in sub-
o f section (1), in clause (b),-
Section 3.
(i) the first proviso shall be omitted.
(ii) in the second proviso, the word 
“further” occurring in between the 
words “provided” and “that”, shall be 
omitted.
