THE ASSAM LOCAL BOARD ELECTIONS (EMERGENCY 
PROVISIONS) ACT, 1936.

ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE POST ­
PONEMENT OF LOCAL BOARD ELEC ­
TION. 
Whereas the triennial elections of Local Boards 
in Assam are required by the existing Jaw to 
be held before the 1st April 1937 and whereas 
it is expedient to postpone the said elections to 
a later period without thereby disturbing the 
triennial occurrence of the elections ; 
It is hereby enacted as follows :-
Short title. 1. This Act may be called the Assam Local 
Board Elections (Emergency Provisions) Act, 
1936.
