[Published in the AsJam Gazette, dated 12th May 1954] An Act to extend the pror•isions ef the Press and Registration qf Books Act, 1867 to Lushai Hills District Preamble.-WHEREAS the Press and Registration of Books Act, 18<&7 (Act -N.o.XXV of 1867), is not in force in Lushai Hills District. . . AND WHEREAS it is expedient to bring the said Act into force in tile. said ·~ ·, District ; It is hereby enacted as follows :- 1. Short title, extent and commencement.-(!) This Act may be called the Press and Registration of Books (Extension to Lushai Hills) Act, 1954. (2) It extends to the Lushai Hills District. (3) It shall come into force at once. . 2. Application of Act No.XXV of 1867 to the Lushai Hills District. All the provisions of the Press and Registration of Books Act, 1867 as amended from time to time and the rules made thereunder, subject to any amendments to .which they are for the time bdng subject in the rest of Assam, shall apply to the Lushai Hills District.
