It is hereby enacted in the Twelfth Year of the 
Rep ublic of India as follows:-

1. (1) This Act m>ly be called the Assam Offi 
Language (Amendment) Act, 196 • •. ~ 
(2) It extends to the whole of the Stat 
(3) It shall come into force at once .

Preamble. WHEREAS the Assam Excise Act, 1910 is not Act I 
in force in the Mizo District: of 191ra 
AND WHEREAS it is expedient to bring the said 
Act into force in the said District: 
It is hereby enacted in the Twelfth Year of 
the Republic of India, as follows :-
Short title, 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam 
extent and Excise (Extension to Mizo District) Act, 1961.

(2) It extends to the Mizo District. 
(3) It shall come into force from such date as 
the State Government may, by notification, in the 
Official Gazette, appoint.
