mann er herein aft er appear ing ;
It is h ereby enac ted in the Nineteenth Yea! of the
Re publ ic of I ndia as follows r-i-
I. (I) This Act m ay be c alled th e Assam Auto­
no mous Distr icts Administration of
Jus tice (Ame nd me nt) A ct, 1968.
(2) It sh all hav e the like extent as the
principal Act.
(3) It shall come into force a t once.

2. In sec tion 2 of the principal Act-Ame ndment
of section 2
of Assam
Act XIV of
1960.
(1) in sub-section (1), for the words "an
Addit ional Dep ut y Commissioner"
occurri ng b etween t he words "appoint"
an d "for" the words "one or more Addi­
tional Deputy Commissionersu shall be
substituted.

(2) after sub-section (2), the following shall be
inserted as sub-section (3), namely :-
"(3 ) An Additional Deputy Commissioner
app ointed for the United Khasi ­
Jaintia Hills District if and when
so directed by the Stat e G overnment
shall also exercise the powers men­
tio ned in sub-section (1) in the
Jowai District constituted under
Gove rnment Not ification No.TA D!
R/50/64, dated the 23rd November,
1964."
