Section 54 — Option to accept or refuse assessment.

It shall be in the option of the persons to whom an assessment is offered to accept or refuse the same. Mode of acceptance. If they are willing to accept it, they shall make and sign an acceptance in writing, in such form as the Chief Commissioner may from time to time prescribe in this behalf, and deliver the same to the Settlement-officer.
