1 [13A. Certain offences to be cognizable and triable summarily.— (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure. 1973 (2 of 1974), no police officer or court shall take cognizance of any offence under part (a) , (b) or (c) of sub-section (1) of section 11, except upon information received from or on a complaint made by, as the case may be, the Director of Census Operations or any officer authorised by him in this behalf. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 (2 of 1974), every offence punishable under part (a) , (b) or (c) of sub-section (1) of section 11 may be tried summarily.]
