Section 17 — Duration of Legislative Assemblies.

The Andhra State Act, 1953
(1) The period of five years referred to in clause (1) of article 172 shall, in the case of the Legislative Assembly of Andhra, be deemed to have commenced on the date on which it actually commenced in the case of the Legislative Assembly of Madras. (2) The changes in the composition of the Legislative Assemblies of Madras and Mysore shall not affect the duration of either of those Assemblies as provided under clause (1) of article 172.
